DEVELOPMENT AND RECREATION PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Boys and Girls Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st-12th grade

BRYC Basketball is offered to players looking to develop basketball skills, play in a competitive environment, and enjoy a weekly local game. BRYC gives players the chance to play against BRYC teams and other local Club Rec teams. The Rec program requires one practice a week and one game a week. Seasons are 8 games plus practices. All coaches are volunteers and often parents. BRYC encourages parents to volunteer and share the excitement of basketball firsthand.

Winter League typically begins in November with team formation and runs through the end of February.

Spring League starts in March and continues the winter program in a games only, just for fun fromat. We do offer Pre-K and Kindergarten clinics for those players that missed Winter.

Summer League start in Mid/Late June near the end of the FCPS school year. Play is primarily in July. 

Fall Open Gym and Clincics start in September and end in October. 

While "BRYC Basketball Never Stops" we focus primarily on development and learning basketball from Pre-K to 12th Grade. 

Who Can Play:

Development League and Clinics: Boys and girls in Pre-K and Kindergarten

Spring League: Boys and girls in Pre-K/Kindergarten through 6th grade

Summer League: Boys and girls in Pre-K/Kindergarten through 12th grade

Winter League: Boys and girls in Pre-K/Kindergarten through 12th grade
 

What is the Cost:

Development Class: $85
Development League Spring: $55
Development League Winter: $85 
Spring League: $65 
Summer League: $85
Winter League: $99

 

How Are Teams Formed:

All players interested in playing on a BRYC Rec team must register online.
Teams are formed based upon the players grade level and neighborhood.
BRYC switched to grade levels to promote playing with your friends and neighborhood.
Players from the same neighborhood can play together by notifying

Practices - Winter League only:

Practices are held once a week, normally on weeknights
Each practice is 60 minutes long
Practices start late November or early December timeframe

Games:

One game is played per week
Winter League games are usually held on Saturday or Sunday

Spring League games are held weekday evenings only. 

Summer League Games are held weekday evenings only.

Make-up games normally will be played on the weekend.

Each game is scheduled for 60 minute. 

Where Are Games Played:

Games are scheduled at local elementary school gyms near Braddock Road area and Audrey Moore Rec Center (Wakefield Park).
